Originally from Barcelona, Dr. Ripoll graduated from the University of Colorado with honors. There she later went on to complete her surgical internship and did a year of Post-Doctoral fellowship in prostate cancer.

Dr. Ripoll matriculated at the Baylor College of Medicine to complete her residency in urology and a fellowship in urological oncology.

While at Baylor, Dr. Ripoll was an AFUD scholar, studying the role of early oncogenes in prostate cancer.

Dr. Ripoll is double-certified by the American Board of Urology and of Holistic medicine. She has been a prostate brachytherapy teacher since 1999, and has traveled extensively within the U.S. to teach colleagues about this technique.

A certified yoga instructor and practitioner of Qi Gong, Dr. Ripoll utilizes acupuncture in the treatment of urological conditions. In addition to her special interest in how musculo-skeletal disorders affect the human urinary system, Dr. Ripoll has studied osteopathic manipulation.

With two published books and more than 30 publications in the field of urology, Dr. Ripoll  published in the World Journal of Urology a discussion of using Yoga and exercise in treating urologic conditions.

Having been the first women urologist to practice in Colorado, she developed a special interest in Interstitial cystitis and other chronic pain conditions, which let her into her quest for additional treatments, across both eastern and western healing modalities.
